Donation initiatives towards Sichuan Ya'an Earthquake victims
According to Xinhua News Agency, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit Lushan county of Ya'an city in southwest China's Sichuan Province on April 20th. So far, the quake has left 196 people dead and more than 12,000 others injured.
Generali China Life promptly decided to give their support by donating RMB 1,000,000 to the victims on the day after the earthquake. Furthermore, the company gave over 80 Million Yuan accident insurance coverage to 173 front-line supporters, by participating in a centralized portal provided by Hexun.com. Hexun.com is a financial portal website in China, which set up a donation portal 9 hours after the earthquake with the aim to centralize the insurance companies to provide unified insurance coverage to the front-line supporters of the earthquake.
Immediately after the earthquake, to promptly support its clients, Generali China Life set up an emergency "Sichuan special claim service" that was added in their hotline voice reminder, to guarantee that the customers in the earthquake zone could have a even prompter service after dialing the hotline within 10 seconds. The company also released the local service staff’s contact to customers in the affected area, to ensure that they could report any claim in their local dialect.
